Healthy choices lead to wellness
“All of a sudden one morning I couldn’t get out of bed,” recalls Lori Evans. “You don’t know what it’s like until you sit there and have doctors tell you that there’s no cure for what you’ve got and they can’t tell you how much it’s going to debilitate you. I honestly thought I’d be in a wheelchair by now.” Doctors diagnosed multiple sclerosis (MS). For a while Lori felt like a professional stuntwoman, falling down all the time and being helped to her feet by friends and colleagues. When Doug Evans, who started his Body Wise business in 1991, gave her Right Choice AM/PM because vitamins might help increase her energy, Lori was skeptical. She’d already tried hundreds of nutritional products. But ever since then, Lori reports, “I have not had chronic fatigue anymore.”
In April 2000, when she started taking AG-Immune, she says, “The pain went away. I wasn’t falling down anymore. I wasn’t getting the symptoms.”
When she resumed work as a college administrator, establishing payment systems for many of the colleges and universities in Nevada, her colleagues who used to help her off the floor were stunned. They saw her walking, looking healthier and acting younger as she worked 12-13 hour days. While Lori has not been cured of MS, and the nutritional supplements don’t treat, prevent or mitigate disease, she has enjoyed a remission since April 2000. “It’s not any magic pills. It’s good nutrition,” Lori believes, explaining that while the supplements have given her body good support, she also eats much healthier now, exercises and gets proper rest. “I’ve learned to take care of myself.” An essential part of taking care of herself involved losing over 40 pounds with the Élancé Weight Management System. Because of the benefits she’s experienced, she enjoys educating young people who live on fast food diets about nutrition. “Here I am in my 40s, with MS, and I’m running circles around them,” she says. In fact, Lori became a Body Wise Consultant so she could help other people live healthier lives. Doug and Lori built their business together, and the resulting financial freedom allowed them to move to a small Idaho community where they bought a dream home nestled on a hill that overlooks grazing cattle in the valley below. “If I didn’t get paid a dime, I’d still be telling people about Body Wise, ” Lori says enthusiastically. “It gave me back my life.”
